GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION TO CLASS-XI SCIENCE
Eligibility for obtaining the Application Form:
Average 60% and above in CBSE,ICSE,and other State Board qualifying Examination deemed to be equivalent to AISSE conducted by CBSE.
CGPA 6.4 and above in CBSE and other Boards (If applicable)
Direct Admission:
Students scoring 90% and above in any eligible qualifying board examination or obtaining corresponding CGPA may take direct admission.
Selection Creteria:
A merit list comprising list of applicants based upon their performance in the qualifying examination will be published in order of 1st, 2nd and 3rd list dates for which to be decided by the admission committee under the chairmanship of the Principal.
The short listed meritorious applicants will be given 7 days time to take admission failing which the vacant seats in the said merit list shall be used for succeeding applicant(s) from among the applicants.
The admission committee however shall reserve the rights to take admission of student(s) securing 90% and above in the eligible qualifying examination in any number of available seats. Rest seats (only) shall be notified for open admission.
Documents required to apply for admission/to be submitted along with the duly filled in Application Form obtained on payment of requisite fee from the counter of the school as per notification.:
- Self attested copy of the School Leaving Certificate
- Self attested copy of the Qualifying Mark Sheet/Self attested Internet copy of the qualifying result.
- Self attested copy of the good conduct certificate issued by last school attended.
- Self attested copy of Medical Fitness Certificate (Should have been issued within last 6 months)
- Self attested copy of the Migration Certificate issued by last Board attended.
ST.XAVIER’S STUDENTS: Students of this school / Group of schools who have taken Scheme-I of AISSE and have secured the minimum qualifying score shall be given preference in admission.
Admission on transfer: A student transferred from one institution affiliated to the Board (CBSE) to another such institution may be admitted during any time of the year (But not later than 31st August of the year)depending on the availability of the seat,but no such migration will be allowed after his/her name has been sent up for the examination of the board.
Choice of subjects:
(a) Language: English Core, Englisg Elective
(b) Elective Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Informatics Pracice, Physical Education
Optional Subjects : (Students need to choose minimum two and mamimum 3 subjects depending upon their interest) out of the following.
The syllabus and Course Materials for the above subjects will be followed strictly as per prescribed guidelines of CBSE.
Notwithstanding to the above guidelines ‘Rules’ governing admission with Class-XI Science and matters related whatsoever there to shall be decided as per the guidelines for the same prescribed by CBSE on case to case basis(if need be).
Total Number of seats: 160
Date of notification for admission/ Sale of Application Forms Begins : First working day in the second week of April
Last date of submitting duly filled in Application Form along with the attested copies of required documents : Last working day in the first week of June.
First List of selected candidates : First working Day in the 2nd week of June.(Forms submitted by May 30th)
Dates of Admission : Two days from the publication of the first list.
Second list of selected candidates: 4th / 5th Working day of June (Forms submitted by 3rd of June)
Dates of Admission : Two working days from the publication of list.
Third list of selected candidates : 9th / 10th working day of June (Forms submitted by 7th of June)
Dates of Admission: Two working days from the publication of list.
Selection of candidates would be made strictly on merit basis in general. However the Admission Committee reserves the final rights of admission.
New Academic Year i.e Investiture Ceremony(welcoming of the students and classes to begin )shall commence on the first working day in the third week of June.
